Ingredients
- 1 cup almond flour
- ⅓ cup raw cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- 3 eggs
- ⅓ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup melted coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup dark chocolate chips (dairy-free)
- ½ cup pecans, roughly chopped
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- 2
In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour, cacao powder, baking soda, and sea salt.
- 3
In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, maple syrup, melted coconut oil, and vanilla.
- 4
Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir until smooth. Fold in chocolate chips and pecans.
- 5
Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
- 6
Bake for 22–25 minutes until set in the centre and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- 7
Cool completely before cutting — this is key for clean slices and a fudgy texture.
Chef's Note
For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake by 2 minutes. They continue to set as they cool.
