How I Can Help You

One On One Nutrition Coaching

Nutrition coaching sessions are intimate one-on-one appointments with Allison, to work on your personal health and nutrition goals. These can be purchased in packages, or single sessions. Allison will go over your health history, current concerns, food preferences, and all the information needed to create a perfect program in the initial session..

Group Nutrition Coaching

Group coaching is a lower cost option, in which Allison puts small groups together. Typically these groups are tailored to weight loss. If you are looking to get some basic nutrition knowledge, and feel empowered and motivated by a community, this might be for you.

Meal Planning

Meal plans are a great option if you are looking to get new ideas, and recipes to build on your current foundation and knowledge of nutrition. A meal plan can ensure you are getting enough of the nutrients you need, and are customized based on food preferences or specific dietary requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am not 100% sure if I require your services. Can I ask you a few questions first?
Absolutely! I offer complimentary 15 minute phone sessions to any potential clients that are looking for more information.
I just cannot lose weight! How do I know that this will work?
This is probably the question I get asked most often. Weight loss is complex. It is not as simple as calories in calories out, overexercising, and restriction. There are so many factors that influence weight. This is why working one-on-one with a practitioner is crucial. I will work with you to ensure we attack weight loss from every possible angle. We will dive into hormones, inflammation, the digestive system, food sensitivities and so much more. Accountability is also a huge component when it comes to weight loss. Those being held accountable, and with a constant support system are much more likely to succeed. Together, we will get to the bottom of it and find out exactly what your body needs!
I know what to eat - I just can't stick to it.<br />
Although many people feel they know how to eat “well”, there is a lot to learn when it comes to choosing the right foods for YOU. This is why working with a nutritionist is so important. I do not believe in restrictive diets, and I find this is a common reason I see clients unable to stick to their previous diet plans. Your body will crash at some point and begin craving all the foods lacking while on a restrictive diet plan. Food is just on piece of the complex puzzle. We will explore behaviour changes, barriers, emotional support and accountability together.
Are your services covered by my benefits plan?
Many insurance companies cover nutrition services provided by a registered nutritionist. This will usually be listed under nutrition counselling. This is something you will need to check with your individual insurance provider.
Do I need to bring my medical charts and/or lab tests to the initial appointment?
You do not have to bring these records if you don’t have them, however, the more information the better! Please bring a list of all your medications and supplements.
Why see a nutritionist?
I’m sure we are all familiar with the saying “you are what you eat”. The foods we consume affect all areas of our lives. Food is the foundation of our health. Improved eating habits can help increase energy, improve sleep, reduce cravings, stabilize your mood, balance your weight, and so much more. The benefits are endless. Healthy eating can also reduce your risk of many conditions such as prediabetes, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, cancer, autoimmune conditions, to name just a few. Prevention is key! Take control of your health now before it’s too late.
