Are you struggling to get out of bed in the morning? Does 3 pm hit and you’re in a slump ready to reach for coffee or sweets? Feeling worn out day after day? If this sounds familiar, you may be dealing with chronic fatigue.
Here are some of the natural ways I manage chronic fatigue in my practice!
Improve Sleep
The most important way to get your energy in check is to ensure you are getting enough good quality sleep. Going to bed at different times each night, and getting less than 7 hours of deep sleep, can cause fatigue and exhaustion. Consider taking a magnesium supplement before bed, diffusing some relaxing essential oils, or darkening your room at night.
Manage Stress & Emotions
Are you experiencing grief, anger, sadness or stress? Our emotional state can impact both our mental, and physical health. A stressful state may be causing chronic fatigue. Consider working with a practitioner, talking to a friend, or stress relieving activities.
Move Your Body Daily
Physical activity is critical for keeping up energy levels! Staying active can also improve sleep quality and can be a useful tool for stress management. Start by adding in 30 minutes of movement, up to 5 times weekly. This can include walking, stretching, gardening, circuit training, dancing, or any joyful movement!
Eat the Right Foods
Ever pay attention to how your body feels after certain foods? Diets high in processed foods and sugars can cause a lack of energy. If your diet is lacking nutrients, quality, and vibrant colours, you may be starving your body of wholesome foods it needs to produce energy! Consider working with a practitioner to find out how you can sustain energy through foods!
